While we looked at the Lumix DMC-G2 yesterday, here is yet another fellow Micro Four Thirds camera from the Japanese consumer electronics giant, Panasonic. We’re talking about the Panasonic Lumix DMC-G10 here, where it is touted to be the lightest digital interchangeable lens camera with a viewfinder in the world. Don’t be mistaken though – even though it is the lightest, that doesn’t mean all of its functionalities have been stripped away – no sir, the Lumix DMC-G10 comes packed with a host of advanced digital camera functions that were specially designed to be easy-to-use for users who are new to system cameras. Being compact and portable, the Lumix G10 is also able to record High Definition (HD) video in addition to snapping high-quality still images.

Using a mirrorless structure as part the Micro Four Thirds System standard, the G10 has eliminated a number of components that are found in a conventional interchangeable lens camera, where among these include the mirror box and optical viewfinder unit. Doing away with those allows it to obtain its status as being the lightest system camera in the world, and will feature the newly announced Lumix G VARIO 14-42mm/F3.5-5.6 ASPH/MEGA O.I.S. lens that boasts a versatile zoom range of 14-42mm (35mm camera equivalent: 28-84mm) that makes it a snap to shoot a wide-range of scenes, from dynamic landscape to portrait.

Other features include iA (Intelligent Auto) mode, MEGA O.I.S. that helps prevent blurring from hand-shake, Intelligent ISO Control, Intelligent Exposure, Intelligent Scene Selector, recording 1,280 x 720 HD video in Motion JPEG, QVGA, VGA and WVGA formats, an Optical Image Stabilizer (O.I.S.), Face Recognition function, a Live View Finder at 202,000-dot resolution, a 12.1-megapixel Live MOS sensor and the new Venus Engine HD II.

Samsung wants to make an even bigger splash in the US market to cement their position as the top cellphone provider Stateside, rolling out a couple of handsets in the form of the Samsung Sunburst and the Samsung Strive. The former will be a full touchscreen display that is accompanied by a wide range of customizable widgets, while the Samsung Strive is a stylish vertical slider that has a full QWERTY keyboard. Expect to see both devices hit the market via AT&T online as well as in brick-and-mortar stores from March 21st onwards. More details on both handsets will be revealed right after the jump.

Samsung Sunburst
The Samsung Sunburst comes with a 3.0” full touchscreen display to keep you connected to family and friends in style. It boasts a sleek, futuristic black and chrome design, where the Sunburst’s resistive touchscreen relies on widgets to provide users with one-touch access to their favorite features, applications and social networking sites including Facebook and MySpace. Apart from that, you get advanced messaging features including text and instant messaging and Mobile E-mail, offering you with options to stay connected at all times. Also, you will find the following key features – a virtual full keyboard for easy typing, a full browser experience with Single Zoom, Smart Unlock for easy access to applications, a 2-megapixel camera with camcorder capability, SMS and MMS messaging, Mobile E-mail, support for AT&T SocialNet, AT&T Mobile Music and AT&T Navigator and Bluetooth connectivity.

Samsung Strive
As for the Samsung Strive, this vertical slider will feature the styling cues of the Samsung Propel range of messaging devices, where you will be able to choose from a couple of color options – black/silver and purple/charcoal. The inclusion of a full, slide-out QWERTY keyboard makes it a snap to send text messages as well as e-mail in a flurry, while you can also access group messaging with conversations, taking advantage of threaded text messages with video, pictures and the ability to view multiple conversations simultaneously. The Strive is the first device of its kind from AT&T which will offer a trio of new mobile services – a new group messaging service, AT&T Mobile Share and AT&T Address Book.

Surely you would ask just what i-Got-Control is – well, it comprises of a plug-and-play accessory which is capable of transforming your iPhone, iPod touch or iPad into a universal remote control, virtually giving you a free reign of any infrared device in your home, be they TVs, stereo systems and more. Hmmm, sounds interesting, but could the Gizmodo guys equipped with this zap away TVs at showfloors and conventions just like how they did a few years ago at CES?

The i-Got-Control will feature an industry-leading database of over 40,000 IR codes for consumer electronic devices worldwide, and its associated iTunes app is able to support a nearly unlimited number of IR electronics globally, virtually making it a snap to take control anytime, anywhere. Thanks to the inclusion of i-Got-Control’s built-in IR library, you will be able to CONNECT, SELECT and CONTROL your A/V components in a jiffy without having to worry about issues such as the lack of a Wi-Fi network, wires or batteries.

If you are adamant on getting started with this, then just download the free i-Got-Control application through iTunes, hook up the compact accessory to an iPhone (OS is 3.0 or higher), iPod touch or iPad, launch the i-Got-Control application and you are good to go once the selection process of the device is complete. Selection is painless thanks to pre-defined, user-friendly screens that ought to give you full control in a jiffy thanks to a highly intuitive user interface.

It’s a marvelous slice of cell phone joy and a pleasure to use. However, depending on what wonderful things you are doing with the iPhone it can go from cell phone joy to low battery bummer a little too quickly. Fortunately, the battery in the iPhone seems to re-charge rapidly and can plug into either a wall outlet or USB connection. Some USB connections, however, will not charge the iPhone and this can be a real bummer, too.

The iPhone USB Charging Adapter allows you to use any USB outlet to charge your iPhone. Simply connect it between the iPhone charging cable and the USB outlet and you’re all set. No more searching for just the right USB outlet that is iPhone-friendly. Works with the iPhone, iPhone 3G and all iPod devices released with and after the 5th Gen (including iPod Touch, Nano, Shuffle, etc.)

The smokers in your office are up to something… but what? They huddle outside in all sorts of weather, flicking their lighters, puffing on their cigarettes, and discussing what you’re pretty sure is a plan to take over the world. Or at least the office park. And you have your own plan, an awesome plan to take them down by collecting evidence of their nefarious schemes. You’ll grab the Spycam Classic Lighter Camera, walk out to their area with a candy cigarette and record their smoke break conversation while trying futilely to light your sugar stick.

Yeah, we know, it’s a pretty lame plan. They’d know the difference between a candy cig and a real one. So maybe you can’t take down the ring of devious puffers in your office, but you could plant this little lighter in plenty of other places where it would be less conspicuous. It’ll hold up to 4 gigs of video, so you could even hold it aloft at your kid’s band concert and scream “FREEBIRD” between Sousa marches. At least, you’d get one good shout before they drag you off to the principal’s office….

Single push button operation

Built-in battery charges via USB

If you’ve ever been suspicious that someone has planted a wireless spy camera in your office or home, this small gadget can help you conduct your own investigation. Not that you’d be paranoid or anything, but hey - you never know, right? Besides, having the peace of mind knowing that you’ve checked for such hidden devices is a pretty nice benefit of having this device.

The Hidden Camera Detector is so small you can take it anywhere. When a wireless camera is detected, an LED light flickers and an audible alarm sounds. Advanced circuitry reduces false alarms from background interference and a sensitive tuner allows you to automatically scan variable distances and channels. The unit detects frequencies from 50MHz to 3GHz.

Here at ThinkGeek we are definitely fond of the infamous caffeine molecule but we also have another favorite - alcohol. Sort of like caffeine’s older misbehaving brother. Both molecules are worthy of respect and at times require restraint but alcohol warrants the need for a higher level of responsibility and control. Knowing your limits is important and this little device can help. After all, here at ThinkGeek we think it’s critical that you understand what happens when you drink and derive…

The AlcoHawk offers an incredibly compact breath alcohol screener at an affordable price. The compact design makes it easy to carry in your pocket or even on a keychain. The AlcoHawk features a folding mouthpiece design and two digit LED display and contains a highly accurate semi-conductor oxide sensor.
Video iPods are the bee’s knees, the cat’s meow, and the aardvark’s pajamas. You can watch video podcasts, hit TV shows, and movies stored magically on that itty bitty little device. The one drawback with this medium is the size - the actual physical size of the screen is so small, you may find yourself holding the iPod right up against your nose to see anything.

We’ve got just the thing - video goggles that plug directly into your video iPod and project a virtual 24 inch TV directly in front of you! That’s right - plugged directly into your iPod - no extra cables, adapters, or bulky power-packs necessary. These goggles don’t even have batteries - they draw power directly from your iPod.

Don’t worry - they draw so little power, you probably won’t even notice it. A 5th gen 30 Gigabyte iPod Video can run more than 2 hours, while the 80 Gigabyte iPod Video can run more than 4!

Watch your favorite episode of The Office, catch up on Lost, or even watch Blade Runner for the upteen millionth time - whatever you want! Just please don’t wear them while driving or operating any other heavy machinery.

Okay, just about everyone has a red laser pointer. Heck, we even sell a fine one here at ThinkGeek. But, we’re pretty sure you want to be a superior geek - and doing it with a green laser is the way to go.

This pointer is significantly brighter (about 50 times) than a red laser pointer and because of its unusual color it is much more noticeable. I mean come on, a 532 nm green laser wavelength is obviously superior to a laughable 650 nm red laser wavelength. And unlike a red laser, the green beam itself can be seen in mid-air in dark conditions, not just the laser beam dot. This allows the green laser pointer to be used for pointing to star constellations (skypointing) and also just generally look cool as hell. The green laser beam dot can be seen at much greater distances than with a red laser pointer.

Since green direct injection laser diodes aren’t readily available, this pointer is based on the use of Diode Pumped Solid State Frequency Doubled (DPSSFD) laser technology. A high power IR laser diode at 808 nm pumps a tiny block of Nd:YVO4 generating light at 1,064 nm which feeds a KTP intracavity frequency doubler crystal to produce the green beam at 532 nm.

These days, most speakers that are sold as “MP3 speakers” are pitiful and anemic little things, shaped like bubbles and sounding like, well… sounding like crap, frankly. Buzzy, tinny and no bass response. Sad and pathetic, but what’s a proper rocking geek god supposed to do to entertain his entourage with the latest nerdcore or arpeggiated moogsynth jams?

What you need is an old-school retro guitar-amp, zapped with a shrink ray, but still capable of cranking to eleven, and blasting your ears with 5W of power! If only somebody made such a thing! If only… Hey, look! ThinkGeek’s got ‘em! Yay!

This little amp is perfectly sized for portable rock. Maybe you won’t be able to plug in your favorite Gibson or Fender or Rickenbacker, but you can plug in your iPod, iPhone, Zune or Zen. Really, anything that can send sound down a 3.5″ mini-jack will do just fine. Powered by 3 AAA batteries (not included) or by your computer’s USB port, it pumps out plenty of sound out of that little body. So before you try and overdrive your tiny headphones in an effort to let your friends hear your songs, maybe you should plug in your amplifier, and get with the proper rocking.

Your cellphone is sitting at the bottom of your bag, or perhaps lost in the cavernous folds of your jacket pocket. With the noise of the environment around you, you’ll never hear it ringing. Maybe it’s your girlfriend saying she wrecked your car, your mom informing you of an unexpected inheritance, your roommate telling you that zombie Ed McMahon’s waiting for you at your apartment with a giant novelty check, or Jessica Alba asking you out on a date (hey, it could happen). The bottom line is, when your phone rings, you had better know it, ’cause you never know who’s calling.

The BluAlert bracelet uses Bluetooth technology to buzz discretely on your wrist when your phone rings. Even in the loudest room, or the most boisterous dance-floor, you won’t miss it when BlueAlert goes off.

Even better, BluAlert acts like a security device! Once paired with your phone, if it should suddenly find itself more than 5 meters away, BlueAlert buzzes. Not only will you never miss a call, you’ll never lose your phone.

Without it, you might as well be some caveman, lost in time and pounding out text-messages on cavern walls in pig blood. Please, for the sake of all that’s digital, we must not - nay WILL NOT allow that to happen! As long as there is breath in our lungs, and conveniently packaged 2800mAh chemical-electric storage cells in convenience stores, our cellphones will NEVER die!

This is the point of the movie where the patriotic music swells.

Cellphones were originally designed to keep you connected while out in the field. Though “the field” can be rather lacking in wall outlets, so when your phone’s batteries run dry, and you’ve gotta top up, you’ll need a portable charger. The Turbocell Charger uses simple and readily available AA batteries to pump some go-juice into your cellphone’s lithium ions. As small as a pack of gum, and with enough connectors to mate with nearly any manufacturer’s phone, you’ll be good to go, no matter where it is you’re going.

The average AA battery can add up to 2 hours of extra talk-time, which might be just what you needed - especially if, during the above movie, you have to hack into the aliens’ computer network to upload a virus from your Mac. It would suck if your cellphone gave out at the last minute, and would make a terrible downer of a movie ending.

It’s sort of a cross between a USB memory stick and a GPS receiver and what it does is store where ever you take it on the flash memory.

The Portable GPS Tracker is pretty small so you could either always carry it on you or use it in 007 spy mode by planting it on a person or vehicle you want to monitor. You may be wondering how you retrieve the stored info and secret routes, well that’s where it gets really cool.
Once the tracker has done it’s travels and it’s back in your possession you simply connect it to you PC and download the data. This data can then be plotted on Google Earth, Mapquest, maps.google.com and Virtual Earth to show exactly where it’s been, how long it took and how it got there.

I just think this is so cool (may of said cool a record number of times in this post) it obviously has the spy functionality of tracking somebody else but to me it is even more useful for tracking your own holidays and backpacking adventures. So not only can you bore visitors with your holiday snaps you can also show them exactly where you went.

They only come in two colors: white or that yellowish-white that reminds us of the teeth of an avid coffee drinker. What fun is that kind of flashlight? We’ll answer that: NO FUN AT ALL. You know what is fun? Using the Multi-Color LED Flashlight to cast a sickly green glow over your face while telling a zombie story around a campfire. No campfire? Make a fake one with the orange light! Be a super villain that shoots red death beams out of your sleeves! Use the turquoise light to pretend you’re a mermaid under the sea! (Wait, you don’t do that? Ummm… yeah. Us either.)

This isn’t an industrial strength light show, but the Multi-Color LED Flashlight still puts out some very bright colored beams. A single button allows you to easily flip to select the color of your choice. Ten different colors in one compact flashlight! Ten! Great for industrial, automotive, household, and recreational uses. We monkeys recommend red for preserving night vision (or for an emergency signal), green for making those pesky maps easier to read, and yellow for foggy days when you can’t see the tip of your own tail. The blues and purples are fun too!

Scent is one of our most unusual senses because it can affect our moods without our conscious mind realizing it. Olfactory neurons are slower to absorb information and also slower to give it up - which means the when a smell affects you, it lingers. Department stores use smell manipulation all the time to get consumers to behave how they want. Now you can manipulate your sniff-cells in your own work place. Freshen the air and affect your mood in two easy steps with the USB Aromatherapy Oil Burner.Step one, add one drop of the included aromatherapy oil onto the little X. Step two, insert into a USB drive (horizontal drives preferred to prevent drips). There is no software to run, no drivers to install, as the USB Aromatherapy Oil Burner just needs to get warm. And then the lavendery smells spread around your office and put you in a better mood. Also makes a great gift - really, why buy a bouquet of flowers when you can give your special someone a tiny USB stick and a little bottle and they’ll have the smell of lavender for a lot longer than real flowers would last and never need to do any watering or any other “responsible” actions like using proper punctuation or avoiding run-on sentences?
