Keeping people out of your property can sometimes be as simple as giving the illusion of security. Even if you can’t afford a top of the line security system, this fake one looks real enough to fool most people. It might be overkill for most homes, but small businesses could definitely use them. They could even be used to get people to quit breaking into your garage.

These cameras will even scan back and forth. Only after they detect movement do they start to move around, which will conserve their battery life. There’s also a red blinking LED light to make it seem as if the camera is recording. When you purchase the set you’ll get a mounting kit that includes wood screws and a mounting bracket.

For those of us who still have a vast archive of memories in the form of film and negatives, the Photo and Negative Scanners might just come in handy. It helps save you a ton of dough from professionals who scan your pohotos into a digital archive format, as you can now do-it-yourself. These are one-touch 5.1-megapixel scanners that make it a snap to digitize all of your favorite memories – all you need to do is slip in the relevant photos, negatives or slides and it will get to work straight away, allowing you to make backups of those onto an external hard drive or even upload them (after conversion) to Facebook or other social networking sites.

There have been a few different ways to label cords to make it easier for you to unplug gadgets when they’re not in use. This gadget will make it easier for you to know which plug goes with which gadget. Plus it will make it a whole lot easier to unplug your different gadgets. Plus you can pick and choose just how many outlets you want on the power strip.

If this weren’t a concept design, you would get to choose which stickers you want and how many of the cubes you’d like to buy. Then at a later time you could buy a couple more of the cubes to plug into the rest of the strip. Just place the stickers with each respective plug. Then when it’s time to unplug it, instead of tugging on the cord, you just push down on the back of the plug. Unfortunately this is still a concept, so you won’t be able to purchase these just yet.

Well, the company just announced two more next-generation HomePlug AV-certified powerline kits in the form of the compact Powerline AV 500 Adapter Kit (XAVB5001) and the Powerline AV+ 500 Adapter Kit (XAVB5501) with a filtered “pass-through” power socket. Theoretically, both of these devices are speed demons, capable of hitting speeds of up to 500Mbps, but we know that in real life things are a whole lot more different, what with interference and other niggling problems that bring the figure down to a more realistic level. Apart from that, both Powerline kits are able to offer whole-home coverage and groundbreaking throughput that have no rival to this day.
Expect to find the latest in technological innovations within both devices, where they were specially designed to play nice with the draft international IEEE P1901 Powerline standard. Apart from that, they are able to offer greater speeds for bandwidth-hungry applications including lag-free Internet gaming, Voice over IP (VoIP), large file transfers to networked devices, and for home theater enthusiasts, even simultaneous 1080p HD video streaming to multiple TVs throughout the entire home.

You will be able to spot the Netgear Powerline AV 500 Adapter Kit (XAVB5001) easily thanks to its relatively compact form factor which is smaller than your regular deck of cards, and up to 50% more compact compared to its market rivals. Perfect for those who are looking for a Powerline device that won’t block an open power outlet when plugged in. As for the HomePlug-certified Powerline AV+ 500 Adapter Kit (XAVB5501), it has the similar performance and design benefits as the Powerline 500 AV Adapter Kit, but you get a cutting-edge integrated filtered power socket for “pass-through” capability as well to ensure an existing wall power socket with the adapter is not cannibalized.

PUMA and Sagem Wireless have come together in an unlikely alliance, offering what they call the PUMA phone which will arrive in selected markets come this April 2010. This unveiling was done at this year’s Mobile World Congress, where it is touted to be really different from all of the other handsets. At first glance, this looks like some sort of Neonode and HTC hybrid in terms of form factor, and on its back you find an eco-friendly feature that could very well catch on in future cellphone designs – a solar panel that allows you to juice up the PUMA phone everywhere you go as long as there is sufficient sunlight. Granted, this won’t be able to replace the power outlet, but it could provide just enough power for you to hold one more conversation during an emergency.

The PUMA phone is touted to be an active smartphone, where it comes with the following specifications :-

Integrated solar cell, with charge indicator
Touchscreen: 2.8? thumbable screen with 240 x 320 QVGA resolution and TFT wide viewing angle
Camera: 3.2 megapixel camera with LED flash and 6x zoom
Bluetooth connectivity
Photo sharing capability
Video: VGA video call camera; full screen video playback, with video recording and streaming and progressive video download
Music: wide range of music formats with playlist support and FM radio
Localisation: GPS, compass, geotagging, routing and mapping
Sports: pedometer, GPS tracker and stopwatch
Internet: Open internet browsing, with WAP Push
Messaging: Mobile email client and mobile web mail notification; instant messaging; MMS and SMS
HSPA and W-CDMA/EDGE/GPRS/GSM connectivity
USB 2.0 support

However, the Cobra XRS 9970G is a fuzzbuster that is designed to avoid the fuzz that we all hate: the type that give speeding tickets. Of course, these are illegal in some states, but they are handy for staying off the cop-radar in the states that do not outlaw them.

One of the biggest problems with these fuzzbusters is that they are very hard to program and use. It’s one of those devices that has a manual, and you probably need to use it. The 9970G’s touchscreen makes it very user-friendly, and allows for simple setup and use.

If you drive a nice enough car, most of them come with a way to control your radio without ever having to remove your hands from the steering wheel. Although a built-in method is definitely ideal, this one would be a great way to give yourself a happy medium without spending a fortune just buying a new car. It attaches to your car’s steering wheel and allows for you to adjust the volume and change the songs.

The remote control also has Bluetooth and is of course compatible with all Bluetooth phones. It supports last call re-dial as well as voice dialing functions. It also has an integrated FM transmitter that supports line-in and audio-out USB port and SD/MMC card slot. It has CVC technology that’s supposed to get rid of any noise and echoes.

Samsung has also included its Advanced Panorama Shot with Object Tracking and innovative Dual Capture mode that allows users to simultaneously take 10-megapixel still images while recording full HD resolution videos – neat!
We all know that going the multitouch route is somewhere many hardware manufacturers have already headed, and HP does not want to be left behind with the introduction of their first multitouch-enabled tablet which targets business users as well as notebook PCs which are tailored for both enterprise and small and midsize businesses (SMBs). Known as the HP EliteBook 2740p as pictured above, this ultra-thin, multitouch-enabled convertible tablet offers an interactive experience for businesses in health care, education, sales and more, while there is also another HP EliteBook 2540p ready to hit the market, making it the lightest EliteBook notebook from HP to date with a starting weight of 3.3 pounds. As for the HP ProBook standard series (s-series) notebook, there will be a quartet of models of the high-performing series debuting which comes in a new design and sophisticated colors for everyday computing.

We will concentrate most on the HP EliteBook 2740p as it boasts an offering of standard voltage Intel processors, merging the power and reliability of an HP business notebook PC with the flexibility of a tablet to make it suitable for folks who are always on-the-go. It has a starting weight of 3.8 pounds which will comprise of a 12.1? diagonal LED display, while those with a little bit more cash can always opt for the outdoor-view display with less reflection and a higher contrast for easier viewing in natural light. Thanks to its touchscreen option, you can get more work done intuitively in a faster manner based on your choice of input methods. Expect to use the full array of known multitouch gestures, finger taps and swipes across the display as you navigate through applications and menus, while checking out your daily dose of gadget news here. You can choose from a wide range of battery solutions for lightweight configurations, while those who want more run time can always pick up the optional HP 2700 Ultra-Slim Battery that provides up to 11 hours when working in tandem with the standard battery.

Instead of having to wait until you’re around a computer to check the news, now you can have a keychain to help you out. Sure, those of you who have smart phones can always check the weather while you’re on the go, but for those that don’t this is an affordable solution. It’ll keep you up to date on the forecast, plus it has other functions to make life a little easier for you.

In addition to giving you things like the min/max temperature and humidity it has other small features as well. Things like an alarm clock with a snooze function, a calendar with date, day and year display, and a moon phase chart.

The details are the AirStash are a little limited as of now. They’re just allowing a sliver of the information to leave you craving more on the device. Particularly how much it will end up costing you. It does promise to expand the storage of your device with a wireless memory card that takes swappable SD cards. All of this can hook up to your computer through the USB port. I imagine that details will start trickling out later this week.

If you’re tired of all of your speakers lacking any organic gadget feel, then this speaker system should be a nice change. Instead of trying to look like every other cutting edge speaker system out there, these take cue from the trees. This system makes it so that it looks like a bright white trunk is slowly growing up from the floor and the speakers sprout out of the side of the trunk.

The bright white contrasted with the black gives the set a very modern feel, all the while still being earthy. It’ll give you the best of both worlds. The low tone speakers are closer to the ground, while the high pitched sounds go towards the top. They’re capable of being stacked together or even used separately. These speakers are a concept design by Marcos Ignacio Madia. That also means that these will probably be a little hard to get your hands on.

Sony is at the forefront of things yet again with the launch of its first Blu-ray 3D-ready player in the market, known as the BDP-S470 for those of you who absolutely love memorizing gizmos by their names. This model is not ready to display Blu-ray 3D content just yet, but it will be able to do so later this summer via a firmware upgrade, and we do believe that this is the same firmware which will enable the Sony PS3 to handle 3D playback over Blu-ray as well. Apart from that, Sony has also made known that its BDP-S570 Blu-ray Disc model and the BDV-E770W and BDV-E570 Blu-ray Disc home theater systems will be able to support Blu-ray 3D as well via their respective firmware updates this summer.
It was at the most recent CES where we were treated to a plethora of 3D TVs, including a live 3D performance by Taylor Swift before being whisked away to Los Angeles to attend another awards show. I digress – all the new models will not only be able to handle 3D playback support, but can also instantly stream movies, videos, music and more from Netflix, Amazon Video On Demand, YouTube, Slacker Internet Radio, Pandora (this Spring), NPR, Sony Pictures, Sony Music, and over 25 total providers through the Sony BRAVIA Internet Video platform as long as you have a decent broadband Internet connection.

Another unique selling point of these new models would appeal to iPhone and iPod touch owners, as long as they decide to control the players thanks to a free app called “BD Remote” which is downloadable via the Apple App store. This app will enable the iPhone or iPod touch to double up as a remote control, letting one access the Blu-ray Disc’s details including jacket artwork, actor, and production information from a highly portable device.

Not everywhere that you take pictures is the safest environment out there. Especially for those of you that enjoy hiking or the even more dangerous, rock climbing. With either task you run the risk of dropping the camera in water or mud. Then there’s that whole accidentally dropping it off of a cliff. Still, having a camera in those conditions can get you some really cool pictures. Thankfully some gadgets were created to be able to handle anything we can. This Pentax is one of them, it may not like being dropped off of a cliff, but it could handle all of the water and mud that you dish out.

The camera is shockproof up to 4ft, which isn’t much. It does mean that it won’t be horribly harmful to it if it falls out of your pocket though. The best part is that it’s waterproof up to 20 feet under water. One of the other big perks is that it has a ring of LED lights around the lens to help with low light types of situations while you’re taking photos or capturing a little video.

Beyond that it has 12.1MP, 5x zoom, 720p movie recording, and HDMI port, 16:9 LCD and image stabilization. For those of you that enjoy close up shots of tiny things, it also has a digital microscope mode that allows for it to focus on items as close as 1cm from the lens.

It’s sort of a cross between a USB memory stick and a GPS receiver and what it does is store where ever you take it on the flash memory.

The Portable GPS Tracker is pretty small so you could either always carry it on you or use it in 007 spy mode by planting it on a person or vehicle you want to monitor. You may be wondering how you retrieve the stored info and secret routes, well that’s where it gets really cool.
Once the tracker has done it’s travels and it’s back in your possession you simply connect it to you PC and download the data. This data can then be plotted on Google Earth, Mapquest, maps.google.com and Virtual Earth to show exactly where it’s been, how long it took and how it got there.

I just think this is so cool (may of said cool a record number of times in this post) it obviously has the spy functionality of tracking somebody else but to me it is even more useful for tracking your own holidays and backpacking adventures. So not only can you bore visitors with your holiday snaps you can also show them exactly where you went.

The flash memory-based SanDisk G3 SSD will be able to offer a compelling alternative to a 7,200 RPM Hard Disk Drive (HDD) for many customers, regardless of whether you are a do-it-yourself enthusiast, an IT manager who is looking to improve the performance of your company’s machines, or basically anyone who wants to ensure that their data storage device comes with increased durability and performance with high reliability round-the-clock.
Take the flagship 120GB SanDisk G3 SSD for example – it boasts an unprecedented long term reliability which allows it to endure up to 80 terabytes (TB) of data written to it over its lifetime. This is made possible thanks to its smart flash management system known as ExtremeFFS technology which enables the SSD to accelerate random write performance, resulting in an extended endurance of SanDisk G3 SSD when used in computers running on operating systems such as Microsoft Windows XP and Windows 7. Since the SanDisk G3 SSD does not rely on moving parts, durability is improved which helps resist drive damage. SanDisk has also ensured that its G3 SSD is backed by rigorous shock and vibration testing procedures, and hence are confident enough of offering a 10-year limited warranty which is one of the best-in-class quality assurance that could only come from a trusted leader in flash memory.

Toshiba knows that the tablet road could very well be the next big thing, and has hence come up with the Toshiba Portégé M780 Tablet PC that boasts multi-touch display capability to keep up with the times. Capable enough to deliver an enhanced computing experience to students, educators and business professionals via the now well-known benefits of touch, it also offers an alternative platform to everyday computing which is sure to get your friends all curious about your latest purchase.Granted, this will be much more hefty compared to a skinny and lightweight netbook, but the features and specifications which we’ll look at later after the jump might just persuade you to pick one up.

The Toshiba Portégé M780 Tablet PC will run on the Windows 7 Professional operating system in order to take full advantage of the built-in touch capabilities found there, helping turn everyday interactions into a simple and intuitive affair. Basically, users are able to scroll through Web pages and documents easily with but a touch of a finger, letting you tap to launch programs and open files in a jiffy. Toshiba has also thrown in their very own touch-enabled ReelTime and Bulletin Board applications that aim to help users find and organize information in a more conducive manner.

We all know that cellphones are on the advanced side of things, and it comes as no surprise as technology has grown by leaps and bounds ever since the government decided to industrialize the entire nation (at least on the southern end of things). Well, today marks a new milestone in their cellphone histroy as the first Android 2.0 smartphone has arrived in Korea, and it does not hail from Samsung or LG, but is known as the MOTOROI instead. Judging by the name of the handset itself, you can easily tell that this is an offering from Motorola, and the MOTOROI is supposed to offer multi-tasking capability, effortless pinch-and-zoom browsing which might just win some iPhone fans over, as well as the ability to handle audio and video playback with aplomb. More details on the Motorola MOTOROI right after the jump.

SK Telecom will be the official MOTOROI carrier, where the smartphone itself does not come up short in terms of features. After all, you get a lovely 3.7? WVGA display at 480 x 854 resolution that would make Web surfing with the device a real treat, not to mention the ability of Androdi 2.0 that complements the overall user experience as it makes it a snap to view full page websites, videos, games or photos without having you to squint. Thanks to the clever use of Motorola’s touch user interface (UI) and a capacitive touch sensor, screen flipping and scrolling are done in a smooth manner, with five main displays enabling you to customize your MOTOROI with a range of widgets to provide a truly user-friendly experience.

The MOTOROI does resemble the Droid somewhat, but it does come with an added advantage of handwriting recognition mainly because of the target market it appears in. The camera also boasts an improvement in the form of an 8-megapixel shooter with Xenon flash as well as the ability to record in high definition (720p), making it the first handset of its kind in Korea. Apart from that, you will also be able to enjoy Terrestrial DMB with 24 TV and audio channels at your disposal without forking out a single cent more. The MOTOROI is equipped with 8GB of internal memory, although it does come with a microSDHC memory card slot that can handle another 32GB of space if you so desire.

Fujifilm further expands its FinePix line of digital cameras with the JX530, where it will come with a wide range of interesting features to get beginners started on the right footing when they are just venturing into the world of digital photography. You will find that at the core of the Fuji FinePix JX530 lies a 14-megapixel image sensor and a wide-angle 5x optical zoom lens.

In addition, its relatively compact size enables you to tote the JX530 camera just about anywhere, regardless of whether it is in your shirt pocket or purse. There is one drawback to the JX530 though, it does not come with the effective Dual Image stabilization technique found in more advanced models, as you will have to settle only for a digital image stabilization. Then again, those who are more advanced in the field would shun this beginner digital camera and opt for something better in the first place, so that is not such a big deal after all.

Features of the Fujifilm FinePix JX530 digital camera include a 2.7? LCD display, while the inclusion of an Intelligent scene mode makes it much easier for newbies to get started as they don’t have to fiddle with manual controls in order to get the best possible shots, as this scene mode can cover 17 scenes and is able to detect the scene automatically. Your job is pretty simple then – just frame the shot and let the camera choose the right setting, and you’re good to go. After all, classic Motorola elements were in there including a solid build, great hardware and general all-round toughness. Well, fast forward to 2010 and you have the next Android-powered handset from Motorola known as the Motorola Devour. This smartphone will arrive in the markets from Verizon Wireless this March, and has the honor of being the first Verizon Wireless handset that comes with the MOTOBLUR content delivery service which aims to make wireless phones more personal and customizable.

To get a better idea on what Motoblur is all about, this is the first solution of its kind from Motorola that allows one to synchronize contacts from work as well as personal e-mail services, which comprises of Gmail (among others), alongside posts, messages, photos and more from popular sites such as Facebook, MySpace and Twitter. All content will be delivered automatically to the home screen via MOTOBLUR, resulting in easy-to-manage streams that you can keep track of with but a single glance. Among the other main features and specifications of the Motorola Devour would include a touch-sensitive navigation pad, a 3.1? capacitive touch screen display, Bluetooth connectivity, pre-loaded applications including Gmail, Google Talk, YouTube, Google Search and Google Maps with Google Maps navigation. Of course, Motorola hasn’t forgotten to throw in
Android Market access that allows users to check out over 20,000 applications for their personal use.

Not only that, you have a Happenings Widget which will see status updates, wall posts and photo updates from popular social networking sites being sent straight to you in real time, letting you compose a response when necessary using the slide-out full QWERTY keyboard. Each purchase comes with an 8GB microSD memory card, where you will need to subscribe to a Nationwide Talk or Nationwide Talk & Text plan and a Data Package for smartphones if you want to best leverage the Motorola Devour.
